MAISR, a Foreign Military Sale coordinated under the U.S. Army鈥檚 Fixed Wing Project Office, will provide the Canadian Department of National Defence (DND) with three rapidly deployable ISR aircraft for increased security and enhanced mission effectiveness.

Canada and the U.S. enjoy unprecedented interoperability 鈥 a strategic choice that enriches both countries鈥 defence, security, and economic frameworks.鈥
The brings new capability for Canadian Special Operations Forces Command, which requires an aircraft to be capable of promptly achieving tactical, operational and strategic effects on operations. MAISR will provide a readily available, mission-tailored and sustainable manned airborne ISR capability to meet this mandate and enhance the CAF airborne ISR capabilities.
